Zoo Safari Truck is the best way to see the animal enclosures in a short amount of time

Zoo Safari Truck is the best way to see the animal enclosures in a short amount of time, especially for families with little ones. It’s also great if you’re planning on taking photos or video of the animals because it allows you to get more up-close and personal with the creatures without disturbing them.
While the Zoo Safari Truck is open all year round, it’s recommended to book the experience for the morning as this is when the animals will be at their most active. It’s also better to visit the Safari Park early in the day when it’s less hot and dry.
The tour is a full safari experience as you hop on the back of an open-air safari truck, and you’ll travel through the Safari Park’s expansive savannah habitats with an expert guide who will share interesting wildlife facts. You’ll be able to spot African animals including cheetahs, giraffes, okapis, and more!
During the 18-minute expedition, you’ll be able to stop and see a variety of animals and explore Harambe Wildlife Reserve in its 110 acres of picturesque plains and shady forest landscapes. You can see a lounging hippopotamus in a peaceful pond, a majestic lion sunbathing on a rocky perch, and zebras grazing in the wide-open grasslands!
The Safari Truck has three rows of seats in the lower section and one row on top that can fit 3-4 people. Our guide was very kind and allowed us to reshuffle seating every 20-30 minutes, so everyone in the group had a chance to ride up top! The top row is a bit windy and bumpier, but the views are absolutely breathtaking!
Besides the Safari Truck, there are a number of other things you can do to make your day at the Zoo and Safari Park more enjoyable. Take advantage of a range of free family activities like the Petting Kraal -- touch and brush the park’s goats, Conservation Carousel -- ride 60 different animal-themed animals, Village Playground -- a fun interactive children's playground, and Camp Play Area -- an immersive logging camp with places to climb and slide.
For the safety of the animals, guests are not allowed to take food or drinks into the safari trucks. Guests can bring snacks and beverages to eat in the picnic areas outside the safari trucks. The safari park has plenty of places to eat, so you won’t have trouble finding something to enjoy before and after the tour.
